Vacation

To celebrate Nathan's big day, we decided to be on a plane...all day long! We flew to Portland, Oregon to see his parents. Though the flight was not fun, the vacation was wonderful. Here are a few of the highlights from our trip.

We spent 4 days in Salem with mom and dad Lewis. It was great. Cousin Tina and her family and Uncle Ron and Aunt Grace came to visit. Brennan liked playing with the big boys!

Brennan thought that grandpa Lewis was great...he had a lawnmower and a big tall pile of "sticks." Plus he had lots of yummy berries.
On Monday, June 22nd, the five of us piled into the car and drove to Redding, CA. The 8 hour drive went remarkably well. Brennan enjoyed the entertainment from gramsy and grandpa Lewis. Nathan and I enjoyed it too. The scenery was amazing, I had to be instructed on what was considered a montain and what was just a hill. Things are definitely different out here.

Once we arrived in Redding, the family came out of the woodwork. It was great. Great Grammy Fay, who happens to be 97 years young was so happy to meet Brennan. She showed us some of her handy work. She paints and sews beautifully.

It was great to see Uncle Everett and Aunt Linda.

Cousin Nathan and Hannah and their children Beth, Pricilla, and Kathy came to play too.

Cindy and Wyatt were so kind to open their home to us. It was a special treat to stay with them.

We left Redding on Wednesday and headed to cousin Patty and Randy's house. We went to Burney Falls with Patty, Becky, Jessica, and Callie. It was lots of fun. The falls were beautiful.

We then headed back to Salem, on the way we stopped at Crater Lake. It is so beautiful.

After a day of rest, we headed out to Silver Creek Falls for a picnic and hike. Saturday was a day of rest for mom, Brennan, and me. Dad and Nathan headed to the river to catch dinner. They did a great job providing for their family. It was delicious.

Then bright and early on Sunday morning we headed to the airport for a long day of travel. Thanks to many prayers the flight home went much much better. It was a great vacation, but it sure felt good to get home. Thanks to mom and dad Salhoff, who picked us up and brought us dinner.
