MIchigan Trip

We had a crazy long weekend vacation. We headed up to Ann Arbor, Michigan on Friday night. After a good night of sleep we got up and headed to a park and then a children's museum. After those adventures we returned to the hotel for rest time. That evening we went to a wedding reception for a good friend of Nathan's. It was quite warm, but we had a nice time at their party getting reacquainted. All the boys enjoyed the water table.

This is one of my favorite moments from the children's museum. Look closely ALL my boys are in this picture. Brennan is on the right playing with the ball ramp. Emmett is on the left going up the kiddie slide. Nathan is in a room in the back playing blocks, by himself. I died laughing. They all were enjoying their private play time. Too funny.

Sunday after the reception, we went p to Caro, Mi to visit some more friends. It was a great day. Monday we went up to Lake Huron on our first family camping adventure. The mosquitoes were bad but the weather was perfect. We pitched our tent, had lunch, attempted naps in the tent, and then went to Lake Huron to play.

Emmett enjoying the view of Lake Huron.

Brennan threw many many rocks into the lake. Such a boy!

After the lake, we went back to the campsite for dinner and to get ready for bed. I must say that trying to get 4 people to fall asleep in a hot tent was not very fun. But we made it until 2am when Emmett woke with a high fever. After some screaming and some medicine, Nathan was able to get Emmett back to sleep. The next morning started early as usual. Nathan and I looked at each other at 6am and agreed it was time to head home. We had breakfast, broke camp, loaded the car and were on the road by 7:45am.

Here are some of photos of the camping adventure taken by photographer Brennan.

Emmett tired, bug bitten, dirty and ready to get home.

Our tent, my wonderful husband (aka chauffeur, child entertainer, child chaser, tent pitcher, campfire builder, encourager, all-around wonderful) and our adventure mobile.

We arrived home on Tuesday afternoon. We agreed to try camping again, but maybe after the Lewis#3 is a little older and staying a little closer to home until we have the logistics mastered.
